9 Weeks Pregnant

DSC_3277

How far along?  9 weeks.

Size of baby: The size of a grape (or green cocktail olive).

Weight gain: 117 lbs. No more weight gain since last week but I also think I got the constipation sorta figured out so I think I have more of a food baby bump than anything.

Stretch marks: Not yet but I feel huge!

Gender: Not really sure because the HR is 178 and I’m starting to think I’m having a girl…

Nursery: After week 18 I’ll consider thinking about this.

Maternity clothes: I NEED new clothes. But nothing yet. And I haven’t pulled out the old maternity clothes either.

Sleep: No complaints besides this week I started to have hot flashes when I’m usually freezing cold.

Best moment the week: Knowing that everything was okay with the baby after we had a small scare of bleeding (more than just spotting) and cramping that was making me unable to move off the couch all day. We went to the OB as soon as they could get us in (not soon enough) and did an ultrasound and pelvic exam and found no source of bleeding and my cervix was closed and thick (per the doc). We did get to see the baby again and the heartbeat and I immediately felt better. I was thanking the good Lord. HR was 178 and measuring exactly 9 weeks. So far so good. After that day of cramping I rested well and the next day I felt back to normal. Luckily we have Shantel in our lives to watch Josie and she was available at the drop of a dime to watch her while we went to the OB. I can’t thank her enough for all she does and continues to do. She’s simply the best. We are so grateful.

Food cravings: I sorta backed off the chocolate pudding kick. Once I found it and bought it I only ate one. I think I’m over it. I’ve been craving milk with my dinners (just like I did with Josie). Craving strawberries, raspberries, oranges, bananas…fruit. Lots and lots of fruit! Also, unsweetened iced tea.

Food aversions:  I ate beef stroganoff that I made and just about threw that up. That was the first and last time I’ll ever make or eat that. And anything to do with chicken. The thought, the look, the smell-both cooked and uncooked-keep it away! Disgusting! I don’t know how I ever ate it before I was pregnant.

Symptoms: Nausea (got an RX this week), constant stomach ache and gassy stomach with belching, bloated, out of breath and that horrible constipation still. I take naps when Josie does so it makes the day a lot easier and I am less fatigued.

Mood: Calm. Feeling very grateful Bobby was home this week.

Movement: Gas, flutters and still can’t find the heartbeat on my doppler.

What I’m looking forward to: My mom coming next week.

What I miss: My husband and he hasn’t even left yet.

What a difference a week makes! I saw arm buds, leg buds and even fingers (in another US picture). The head is down below. HR 178 and measuring 9 weeks. The cyst on my left ovary is 3 cm and has not grown (or shrunk), they do not think that is the source of the bleeding. I am thinking that it could be the remaining blood surrounding my uterus from a previous cyst that ruptured when I miscarried in December.
