23 Weeks Pregnant

How far along?  23 weeks.

Size of baby: The size of a Mango.

Weight: 132lbs.

Stretch marks: Not yet.

Gender: GIRL!

Nursery: I’ve decided to keep it basic. Since she will be in our room with us until probably about 6 months old or more (in the bassinet-then Josie’s crib), I’ve decided not to really design her room until about then. Plus, we’re moving (again) so I’ll be able to get a fresh start on what I may want to do. We may re-use and share most of Josie’s stuff. Josie has a lot of stuff/decorations in her room. A lot of stuff that she could afford to share. Stuff I made. And eventually the two girls will share a bathroom up stairs. And I know with experience (having an older sister), we both wanted the same things, always. What she had, I HAD to have and what I had she HAD to have. We both shared everything. Every Christmas we got the same exact gifts. So it’s nice that they can have that opportunity and bond that my sister and I shared.

Maternity clothes: I haven’t bought anything new.

Sleep: I sleep okay. No real complaints with that besides horrible, horrible heart burn. And Josie wakes up between 6:00-6:30 am every morning which doesn’t give me much morning “me time”.

Best moment the week: It’s a secret…but most family members know and friends on my Facebook know. For reasons I cannot state here, I will eventually share the news.

Food cravings: Chocolate and peanut butter ice cream by Breyers.

Food aversions:  Anything I ate in the beginning. The gluten free pizza hot pockets or candy I ate in the beginning.

Symptoms: Hurt burn, round ligament pain here and there and painful Braxton Hicks contractions. I remember having them with Josie but definitely not like this. My body is doing some serious preparedness for this little girl. It usually goes away with walking, moving, re-positioning, drinking a ton of water or laying down.

Mood: Excited!

Movement: A ton of huge powerful kicks. I can see my belly moving now and Bobby can as well. Pretty exciting!

What I’m looking forward to: July!

What I miss: Energy. I’m completely exhausted by noon and require a nap almost every single day. The pressure and weight she’s putting on me is different. I really need to buy a belly band but haven’t had a chance to get to the store yet. I will by next week.
