We’re Officially Brand New Homeowners!

13

We bought our first house!

I cannot believe it!

After years of hoping, wishing and talking about it, we just decided to just do it. The original plan was to rent again, but with much talk and discussion, we have decided that Texas is our home now and it is where we want to raise our daughters. After all, Josie IS a Texan.

With another little girl on the way, we thought long and hard about what we want out of our lives with our beautiful children. We thought about schools, location, careers, opportunities, friends and family. And even the healthcare in Texas is phenomenal. Every single detail has fallen into place.

This house was just built this year (2016). We will be the first people to ever own it, live it in and make it ours. And it’s beautiful!

The area took some time to research. Since we have lived in Texas before, (Houston area) we know the good, the bad and the ugly. Thank goodness.

We are so so so so excited! It really is the best place to raise our family. The schools are excellent! The career possibilities for both of us are endless. There is so much to do, see and explore with our girls. Texas is huge and there are so many places on my bucket list already.

We got really lucky and found a house that was custom built that someone backed out on at the last minute. Which means that no one in the subdivision has the same house as us. It has all the upgrades and the location is prime. It’s a corner lot on a cul-de-sac and it’s surrounded by a nature preserve. There is a brand new Texas Children’s Pediatrics in the entrance to our subdivision, a brand new HEB, a brand new Super Walmart, a brand new elementary school, middle school and a new high school is being built by 2018. Also, the BEST hospital I’ve ever worked at, whom also brought Josie into this world, (Methodist) is building a brand new hospital by 2017 in The Woodlands (so close to our home). Exxon is so close that if Bobby ever wanted to start a position there he could. The airport is near so when Bobby travels on and offshore it won’t be such a haul for him to get home at a decent time/hour.

The swimming pool(s). Oh my gosh! Is this seriously not the most amazing community swimming pool ever? AND they’re building another one this summer that is within walking distance to our home! It will also include a splash pad, shady playground, open lawn and a 5,100-square-foot recreation center with exercise room, meeting room and great room for events.

They just built a brand new Preschool/Daycare right across the street that would be great to start Josie in this Fall.

I really cannot believe God has given us this opportunity and blessed us beyond words. I know that we’ve worked so hard to get where we are. Academically and financially. But seriously, the most important aspect about ALL of this? Is that we are giving our girls the best life we possibly can. They are coming first. We want them to thrive in an environment of friends, family and amazing schools. We are so lucky that we will be only a few miles away from Bobby’s sister, Angela too.

I cannot wait to make this house our HOME. (July 2016)
