A Josie Update

Josie is 8 weeks old today.

According to the doctors, that’s 2 months old. According to the calender, she won’t technically be 2 months until June 7th. But our little girl is growing so fast.

She smiles now. Much more than before. She will make eye contact and smile at you. She also knows my voice and turns her head to see me. She also knows Daddy’s voice and it seems to soothe her in her late night hours of fussiness. She really doesn’t care for tummy time, but has started to really like her play gym. And is gaining head control as I hold her upright to burp her or over my shoulder (which is her favorite position).

Granny and Auntie Rachel came to visit her the past few days and she has been loving the extra attention. She has been so good for them and even shared a ton of smiles with them as well as the “I’m pooping my pants” faces.

They were sweet enough to watch her on Saturday so Bobby and I could go out for a few hours and just enjoy one another. It was nice. But at the same time, my mind was racing with worry and anxiety of leaving her while Bobby tried to calm me.

Every morning I swear she looks different. She’s getting older, smarter and bigger. It’s amazing how time flies.

She has a bad case of cradle cap. Or I guess I should say that she did. It is healing and a lot better than it was. I was treating the really bad oozing parts with 1% hydrocortizone and the rest of her body with Aquaphor, oatmeal baths and oatmeal lotion. She’s a trooper when it comes to being wrapped like a little burrito. She loves it. I have to do it so she doesn’t rub it all off or put her hands into her mouth.

  1. I love all her little expressions- and of course the hair!! Time really does fly- It seemed like only yesterday you were posting her birth story!!! You look amazing- motherhood certainly suits you 🙂

    1. I know the hair is crazy and I love it! 🙂

And thanks for the nice comments, I love being a mom but I don’t look like this everyday, believe me. I’m on sweat pants/yoga pants and nursing tanks most of the day with my hair back (mommy style). haha 😉

  2. Oh I love her hair! Abby hasn’t lost hers either 🙂 you look so perfect as a mother! So….I’m going to be in Houston (porter/Kingwood area) June 26-July 4. Would you want to drive out my direction then and give our girls a play date?

    1. Aww girl, thanks for the nice comments! xoxo!!!

I would LOVE to meet up. Lets play by ear, hopefully I don’t have to work. I’m excited!! I hope you’re doing well. I keep looking for a new blog post from you. I can’t wait to see Abby’s changes. I hope you’re doing better since the infection.

  3. Wonderful pictures and I had another wonderful time. I hate leaving, I never want to miss anything. See you all soon. Love you xoxo
