She’s growing!

This month she graduates from a Newborn and is officially considered an Infant, How exciting!

I’ll start with the fact that this little beauty cannot stop talking. And we love it! Between talking back and forth with us or her just rambling away, she’s talking more and more each day.

Milestones:

She can sit up in her Mega Chair all by herself.

She is rolling over onto her sides and onto her belly. She doesn’t really like being on her belly (still) but finds that she can roll onto it but cannot roll back over. Then she starts to cry to be moved back on her back. It’s like a fish out of water. She’s a little character.

She now sleeps on her side. She favors her right.

Dear my growing beautiful girl, Josie:

I love the way you still curl your toes all the time. You can see them in almost all the photos of you. I remember feeling that the most while you were in my belly. And you’re still doing it. I love it.

I love how you clench your fists and put them together when you’re angry. Or when we’ve waited to long to feed you the bottle or boob. You are so funny.

I love how you always seem to talk the most after the bath. We aren’t sure what you’re saying, but you had the cutest conversations with Daddy…

You started drooling at 11 weeks. I’m quite sure you’re teething. Every other day your little cheeks are rosy.

I love how you grab onto your onesie and pull. You aren’t quite sure what that grip means but you’re so proud that you can do it.

You love to hold your blanket. We bought you a Comfort Silkie and you love it!

You cough a lot. No need to be alarmed. It’s simply because all that saliva has nowhere to go. You’re teething!

You had your first ear infection in the left outer ear canal. Once that cleared up, your right ear got the worst of it. Poor girl. I’m thinking it’s the dairy in my diet. And mommy is cutting out all dairy as soon as I eat the last of my yogurts. I was once dairy free while I was in school. I know I can do it again. Dedication. And you’re worth it.

You smile so much now! When I come home from work you look right into my eyes, smile so incredibly big that your forehead goes up and your ears go back. And you talk, talk, talk my ear off and tell me all about your day. I love those moments right when I get home. It makes the long, stressful days just roll off my shoulders when I see your beautiful face.

I love how you know Granny and Auntie Rachel’s voices and faces on Facetime.

You love the flashcard alphabet app so much so that we bought you your very first iPad and downloaded all the free educational Fisher-Price apps on it. You love, love, love it. And I love watching you smile when the bird pops out of the nest and how the music grabs your attention.

You love sitting in your chair in the mornings and watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on Disney Jr. I know this is good for language building. But I won’t let you get used to the TV. You have so much to learn and I won’t be one of those mom’s who just plop you in front of the TV to entertain you.

You weigh 10.12 lbs. at 13 weeks.

You’re eating about 5 oz. per feeding and mommy stills gets up around 3, 4 or 5:00 am to pump in between even though you’re sleeping so soundly through the night.

I think it’s hilarious when I wake up in the morning and you’ve ripped your way out of your swaddle blanket.  And usually you are laying in the complete opposite way I originally laid you when you fell asleep. You’re on the move!

You still have lingering cradle cap. But I’m sure cutting out dairy will help your eczema.

You lifted your head for the first time all on your own on tummy time! Mommy was so proud! And so were you.

I have an obsession of watching you sleep on the monitor while I move room, to room getting ready for work in the morning. I secretly hope you’ll get up early just so I can see your smile and kiss your little face before I leave.

You still have a hard time going places. You are so good. But once you get bored you want out of the car seat. We try to temporarily soothe you with a pacifier but you want absolutely nothing to do with a pacifier. I guess that’s a good thing. No matter what kind or brand, you spit it right back out. You’re just too smart. There’s no milk in there!

You’re growing so fast my beautiful princess.

I love our 4-day stretches together. I love everything about our time together. You are the most special little girl ever. I cannot wait to continue to watch you grow and change.

Update with Mom:

This is what I look like most days.

I am your typical SAHM. I get spit on, pooped on, peed on. I love every minute of it. Getting dressed up is a waste of precious time. My hair must always be out of reach from those griping, tugging and pulling little hands. And every spare minute I have, I’d rather spend it with my ever changing/growing baby-rather than blow-dry my hair or put on some mascara. Besides, I’m much more comfortable in my PJ’s.

Good news! I got a new job! I’m transferring from Houston to Sugar Land. It is the same hospital that I gave birth to Josie and only 1 mile away from home. I am very much looking forward to the change.

Getting home early, leaving home later and getting more sleep are just a few of the positive things I look forward to. Not to mention no parking garages, parking lots to be bussed in to/from, parking garage fees of $12/day, etc.

I have yet to find a good time and schedule to start working out. I gave in to the Focus T25 hype and hope to do it on my days off with Josie soon (if she will let me). I also have a nice gym at my work that I hope to go to in the mornings before my shift. As of right now, I’m losing the weight so fast just doing my daily activities. I’m still dropping about 1-2 lbs./week. I’m only 7 lbs. away from pre-baby weight. Crazy what breastfeeding can do.

Update with Daddy:

He got a raise! And was accepted to the University of Houston’s Subsea Engineering program. I am so proud of him. He’s so hard working and dedicated both at work and at home.

As always, we are so blessed and grateful for everything we have.
